Susan Rudy is a queer writer and feminist theorist. Based in London and Wivenhoe in the UK, she travels regularly to Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary in Canada.

A Professor Emerita at the University of Calgary and an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London, her creative practice was supported by a six-week Leighton Artists’ Studio Residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity in 2024. From 2021-2024 she taught creative non-fiction and poetry at Birkbeck University of London.

About

Susan Rudy’s writing and research focus on what poetic and experimental writing can teach us about gendered experience. Through her practice, she aims to create space for voices that are often silenced or split—especially those navigating complex relationships to gender, care, and creativity.

Work in progress includes Hand Over, a poetic and experimental book of very creative nonfiction and a 55-page chapbook entitled YOU.
